What: 
The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development, Youth Opportunity Division welcomes Mayor Sheila Dixon and Kweisi Mfume, former five-term Congressman from Maryland’s 7th District as they address YO! Baltimore’s 2008 graduates. The graduating class is comprised of 55 young adults who had previously dropped out of traditional high schools. With the support of YO! Baltimore’s comprehensive services and empowering staff, these graduates have overcome significant obstacles, such as teen pregnancy and substance abuse, to achieve academic and career preparation success.

Background: 
For the past eight years, Baltimore’s Youth Opportunity (YO! Baltimore) has been serving out-of-school youth and young adults by giving them a second chance to become productive citizens by providing educational, personal development, and career preparation resources and activities.
