Congressman Cummings Partners with Mayor Rawlings-Blake, U.S. Department of Labor to host jobs workshop in Baltimore Focus will be the role job clubs and career ministries can play in helping the unemployed in Baltimore BALTIMORE, MD (September 14, 2012) – Congressman Elijah Cummings is partnering with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development to host a September 18 job clubs and career ministries workshop in Baltimore. The half-day program will cover the important role that job clubs and career ministries can play in getting Americans back to work. Participants and attendees will include representatives of local community, faith-based and nonprofit organizations, as well as job club coordinators, workforce development officials, government leaders, employers and job seekers. The event will include two panel sessions offering guidance on starting job clubs and accessing resources available through the public workforce system, including MOED's One-Stop Career Centers and its partner organizations. MOED will also offer a preview of Baltimore City's upcoming Community Job Hubs initiative. WHO: • Congressman Elijah E.
