The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development provides services that assist businesses to recruit and hire qualified Baltimore City residents. Our strategies include:

We partner with developers, general contractors, sub-contractors, and other businesses to customize a hiring plan for each project. It includes no-cost recruitment and outreach initiatives with community and faith-based organizations, colleges, veterans, and other groups across the city.

Support for Compliance with Local Hiring Laws

For projects required to meet local or community hiring goals, we create relationships and coordinate activities which will help to meet or exceed goals and significantly reduce the time and money required to find qualified candidates. This will ensure that your business has the workforce to get the job done and that you are in compliance with community projects and ordinances like the Baltimore City Employ Baltimore Executive Order and Local Hiring Law. These initiatives connect qualified City residents to businesses that are awarded Baltimore City contracts.
